The Fleet
Four aircraft, each chosen for a specific purpose. Whether you're building tailwheel fundamentals, exploring mountain strips, or earning your certificate, we have the right plane for the job.
Cessna Super 170B
Tailwheel & Mountain Flying
The 170B is a classic taildragger – honest, forgiving enough to learn on, and demanding enough to build real skill. Its conventional gear and round-engine heritage make every landing a lesson in coordination and feel. This is where tailwheel fundamentals are built.
- Conventional (tailwheel) gear
- Excellent ground-handling characteristics for instruction
- Ideal for three-point and wheel landing practice
- Great cockpit visibility
Piper Pacer 22/20
Tailwheel Training
The Pacer is a pilot's airplane in every sense. Its short-field performance and rugged character make it the right tool for mountain strip operations and backcountry adventures across the Rockies. It's equally capable as a cross-country machine and an off-airport explorer.
- Excellent short-field takeoff and landing performance
- Conventional gear for continued tailwheel development
- Well-suited to off-airport and backcountry operations
- Comfortable cross-country cruiser
